Anti-inflammatory Effect of Aloe vera Extract on Inflammatory Cytokines of Rats Fed with a High-Fat Diet (HFD)

Background: Cytokines are glycoprotein compounds with an important role in inducing and regulating inflammation. Objectives: The present study aimed to measure the effect of Aloe vera alcoholic extracts on inflammatory cytokines rats fed a high-fat diet. Methods: Forty adult male Wistar were purchased randomly categorized into five groups, including two control groups (control diet (HFD) three experimental (high-fat + 150 mg/kg vera, high fat 300 600 vera). received emulsion doses for 60 days form gavage. Following blood sampling, serum concentrations tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), interleukin 6 (IL-6), interferon-γ (INF-γ) measured. Statistical analysis was administered using SPSS-20 software by ANOVA test. Mean comparisons conducted via Duncan’s multiple range test at 0.05 level significance. Results: findings showed that could increase factors TNF-α TGF-β (P < 0.05). Moreover, concentration factor IL-6 observed P 0.01.
